Woven Vessels

Weaving ・ Looping・Twining ・ Coiling

Techniques I use to make original pieces of art with beautiful fibres such as linen thread, raffia, cane, paper string, sisal, hemp, nettle and banana silk.

Vessel Weaving Workshops are held in my studio and at Walford Mill. Check the Workshop section for dates. Vessels are also for sale from my studio. Please contact me if you would like to visit.

Decorative

I love to add natural pieces to my work - this small paper string vessel was woven with the open twining method and decorated with little seed heads from a dried Alium flower grown in my garden. The little black seeds in the pods team with the black fibre so well!

Useful

Whilst I enjoy creating decorative pieces, a basket always comes in handy!

This storage basket, fashioned by random weaving with cane was decorated with natural shell beads and holds some of my beach finds.
